Guess where I have to go?

Back to the post office, with another requested full. Uhm, yeah. Somebody pinch me *ouch!*

This one's off a query I sent in October, from an agent at the same agency. Not the one I q'd, so I'm guessing original agent passed it on? Either way, ms is now printing and probably heading towards NYC tomorrow.

Time to Organize

I'm trying to get a little more organized this week which means cleaning. Not a big fan of cleaning, usually because it makes an even bigger mess than I started with and I'm left trying to figure out why I even thought it was a good idea in the first place :o) But this is all prompted by the fact I can't find that darn roll of film from the WLG last week. I know I put it in my purse, my dad knows I put it in my purse. But between that moment and going to get the film developed on Saturday it has gone completely MIA. So I really need to try and get a little more organized--a thought that would no doubt shock my dear old dad lol I even checked my usual spot on the one shelf on the bookcase and there is nothing there, which makes me seriously hope I didn't fall out of my purse somewhere.

But the BIG fun task of the week is updating the computer to Norton. I always have HUGE issues when updating from year to year. I don't know why it won't let me save my settings and carry them forward, but they don't and I usually end up having to reinstall it at least twice and messing around with the firewall just to get my firewire connection to work. Not too mention the internet. Yahoo messenger and a little thing called email. The fun, the joy. (NOT) *g* So if I'm silent for the next few days, I may not be able to access the net because Norton won't let me hehe

Ice, Ice Baby

The snow is FINALLY beginning to melt, but its bringing a lot of ice with it. To get to the mail box (we have one of those super mailboxes) I had to walk the snowdrift down the easement then onto the sidewalk or else risk falling down and getting hurt. Ice is no one's friend (well, unless your a hockey player*g*) I'm hoping it melts quick. I'm already looking at the Stokes seed catalog online, trying to figure out my order. :o)

Got my pics back from the WLG on Saturday, taking pictures through a wire fence is a big no-no because your pictures will not turn out. So lost half a roll to that. And somehow between changing a roll of film there and taking the film in, I managed to misplace one. I know I took half a roll in daylight either last Wednesday or Thursday (even dad remembers, because he had to help me hold stuff to change the roll) and now, its not there. I even checked the negatives on the ones that came back b/c the girl at the photo centre said she didn't run off the ones that looked all fence and they aren't there. So fingers crossed I come across the roll soon, because there were some good shots on that film. Including some of our friend.

But I did get my last roll of pictures from the Isles/Oilers game and I'm very happy. All my pics of a certain ex-Oiler turned out very well :o) Not a ruined one of him there. So yay!! Happy dance lol

Because of the ice, Dad went and mailed out the last requested full on Friday. Can I just say $27 for 260 pages to the states is a little insane? But now all the requests are filled, 3 Fulls and 2 partials are now out plus one partial thats been out since November. Hoping for good news from at least one of them. I read one of the agent's blogs who had requested the full. She's new and said within 10 days she had 1100 queries, of those she requested 55 partials and out of those 6 Fulls. Scary odds! But made me smile that I was one of the lucky six! :o)

Will work on scanning some of the pics and post one or two on here. I especially like my 'attitude' pic in front of the ice.

Quick post

According to statcounter, I hit the 10K visitor mark yesterday! And in a laugh-out-loud moment, the visitor was from Edmonton! hehe And oddly enough, it wasn't the WLG google search that brought them here.

So...

I've been away for a bit. Spent every night from Wednesday on last week out at the WLG. Nothing like standing in icy cold air for at least 3 hours a night to make you cough like crazy come Monday morning *g* I'd share some of my pics, but I haven't taken them in to be developed yet. (I've yet to move into the digital age lol) So, come the weekend, or whenever I can get to Costco and get them done I'll post a few. Hoping they turn out. I tried to get some of our friend playing and every time I had the camera on him, I couldn't get any of him facing us. So I'm thinking there's a good half roll of him skating away lol

Met a couple nice people. On the cold COLD nights there really was barely anyone out there but the players and a handful of spectators (if that). I think last Wednesday when we were there, there was only the guy selling the 50/50; me; my dad and another lady standing around the bonfire for about an hour.

Other then the new desire to cough every once in awhile (its tamed down remarkably well since Monday and the aid of cold medicine), not much new. Sent off requested material. Got more books to review (my poor bookshelf!); and printed off the one that has to be snail mailed to the states. Going out for lunch tomorrow with mom after I mail it, so should be nice :o) Still toying with a few new ideas. I'd like for one to take the lead and let me get some actual words down rather than a page here, a page there on about three different ideas.

Cold, cold and cold

Saturday night we went out to WLG. Mapquest has HORRIBLE directions and we ended up getting lost on Range Road, going up and down it twice before we realized mom was right and that bright light was where we wanted to turn off.

Can I just say, I don't think I've ever been that cold in my life!!

There was practically no one outside watching the guys play so we stood by the ice, trying to spot our friend (turns out, he wasn't on the ice till an hour later). Mom and I headed inside the tent. My big mistake was taking one of the cookies on the tray and walking back outside without my glove on while I ate. It felt like I had sharp nails being driven up under the nail of my index finger and straight up. OUCH! So I ended up going back and sitting in the car for awhile, waiting for the pain to subside. Which it finally did, but I had to switch gloves with mom to try and stay warm.

So spent about 5 hours there, not completely outside because man, it was SO cold. Even the guys on the ice were only on for about 2 hours before rotating off. At least its warming up some, because wow the first 3 days of them playing were really hell. The t-shirts from the second time said 'this isn't hell, but we can see it from here'. I think Friday-Sunday really must have been hell on those guys.

In other news, found out my 84 yr old Oma is going in for knee replacement surgery tomorrow so if you could send good thoughts her way, I'd appreciate it! :o)

What's New

I can't believe its February all ready. Time seems to be zipping along lately, which leaves me feeling like I can't get a thing done. Played catch up on the weekend on some of my review books. :o) Read a couple good one's. Halfway through Meg Cabot's latest Princess Diaries book right now (my first Meg Cabot book ever!) Why have I waited so long to read her? hehe

Posts this week could be pretty sporadic, signed up for 2 workshops this last week and both started on the weekend and even more fun, both require HOMEWORK. Argh. And ideas, and a little thing called a logline, which I don't mind but to write one you need an idea to work with (and I need 2!!!) Planning on brainstorming tonight during the hockey game.

At least the -50 windchill temps have faded away. Its not fun to even open the door when its that cold.

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start.
