Interesting

Got the link from Bailey's blog. Actually when you read the little notebook thing, I was surprised how right on some of it was.

Whatcha Reading?

Since I'm brain fried from the write-on challenge (which I'm finally cruising back into after a few days of zilchness) let's talk books. Whatcha reading? Whatcha want to read? :o) My tbb list is long and getting longer the more loops I find myself on lol

Reading --

I'm finishing up THE REST FALLS AWAY by Colleen Gleason. Great historical paranormal. The next in the series comes out in June and I'm already looking forward to it. Fun book to read.

Just picked up Lori Wilde's THERE GOES THE BRIDE after reading the excerpt. I realized looking at the bookshelf the other day I seem to have a bunch of bridal lit now, which I found funny. I do sort of have an idea lurking at the back of my mind that's semi bridal, so see if this sparks that anymore.

Books I'm looking forward to picking up --

The new Jill Shalvis book, SMART AND SEXY is top of my must buy list. Its out now but haven't found it yet. Its the start of a new series. There's a great excerpt up on her site if you want to take a look.

Deidre Knight's third book in her Parallel Series comes out next week, can't wait for that. I'm planning on reading books 2 & 3 back to back. Unless I find book #1, then I'll read the three :)

Other than that, I'm still trying to spot Alyssa Day's Atlantis Rising so I can pick it up and there was one other para which I can't think of.

Spring

Well it finally feels like spring. Except for a few gigantico hills of snow in the backyard and one in the front, its all pretty much slush or magically melted away. Saw my first butterfly today followed by two more. Guess its time to break out the box of seeds and start planning my pots and garden. :)

Went out for awhile last night. Didn't quite feel like it, but didn't feel like staying at home either. Ended up winning a jacket *g* Which came as a total surprise. Its a nice one and kind of funny because last week at Costco I was looking at the jackets and going I don't have a spring one and now, I do!

Writing's going okay. DG's trucking along slowly. Signed up for the writing sexual tension workshop next month this afternoon, so hopefully it'll help. I think sometimes in the romances I wrote (STTA for example) it needed to be ratcheted up a little.

PS -- You may have noticed the update to the blog. In a blonde moment, I didn't think to back up my bookmarks before I hit switch over, so if you were linked in the links and aren't now or remember a link that's no longer there, shout it out in the comments so I can add it. Thanks!

I'm Alive...

Please, don't all rejoice at once *g*

I think it was some nasty 24 hour bug, but today I feel better and celebrated by ordering pizza hut. Not enough sauce for my liking but still, real food. Yay!!

In the write-on 20 pages/14 day challenge I'm at er, well 17 for Monday; 2 yesterday before I fell icky and today so far... Z E R O. I'll change that soon. Settle in upstairs and finish off the scene I was playing with Monday. So far the heroine and her new spunky friend (who showed up out of nowhere) decided to show off one of the cool places I didn't know existed, till the bad guys discovered where they were. Last I saw, Ashtyn (my h) and Stone (my H) were hearing the pounding on the steel door. Guess I should go find out who's on the other side lol

This one's my darker para romance, but I want to keep some of the humor in so right now its not dark dark. Trying to keep it Buffy/Angel in tone. You know there's bad stuff happening, but someone could break into song at any moment (well not really... at least... well they haven't yet)
so see how it goes. I have to do some deep thinking on the myth behind a few things in the story and do some backstory for the villian (who right now I cast as Jax from GH, could change... but he has to be a pretty boy) so that should fill up somewhere about 10 pages. *fingers crossed*

Feels Like A Monday

Even though its Tuesday. Did fairly good on the challenge yesterday, 14 typed pages and three handwritten scribbled down during RAW. (Amazing how inspiring HBK can be!)

Feeling a bit 'ugh' though right now. Nausea to the hilt. Not fun. Just managed to drink a pepsi, so yay on that. Have no idea what I feel like I could eat right now. There's a turkey sandwich in the fridge but even the thought of bread right now is a big uh no thanks.

Other than that, trying to get some work done. And its starting to snow again here. Hard little pellets of snow that were quite ouch-worthy when I went to grab the mail. Though I did get my copy of a book I won at chat last month that I'm looking forward to reading.

Oh does anyone know any good websites with blog templates? I'm thinking about doing a bit of a change on here but other than renaming the blog (which looks easy enough. and 5 bonus points to anyone who can guess what I'm thinking of changing it to *g*) not much I can do on my own.

Dude, Where’s My Muse?

That’s probably the question I’ll be asking all weekend while trying to get myself organized for next week. I optimistically signed up for Michelle Rowen’s write-on challenge. Goal - 20 pages a day every day for 2 weeks. Which would (scrap that, which will!) get me done the first draft of Dangerous Games. (which currently sits roughly at 15K)

Ah yes, good times.

I’d conveniently forgotten that 20 page point till I saw Michelle’s blog. So, while I’m scrambling this weekend (well not really, this one’s got a pretty layout of the story in my head and the main branches of the story are sorta all nicely laid out and cool and I just discovered a whole new part of the story at 3 am the other night. Never let anyone tell you insomnia goes to waste *g*)

Just a SLIGHT issue

Bad bloggie I am, I haven't replied to everyone below, but uh an issue has arose and I'm both clueless and severely nervous. When I try to open my WORD files from the laptop on the desktop, it says they're corrupted. Every single one of them. EVERY single revamped chapter.

So basically, calm and rational me is asking WTH do I do????

Book Talk

Since I've been getting a lot of great books in the mail this week (and I bought three last weekend -- Innocence & Impropriaty by Diane Gaston; the newest Jo Leigh and Shopaholic and Sister by Sophie Kinsella all as a reward for when I finish the edits! *g*) I thought I'd ask what everyone's reading lately and if you're not reading, what are you looking forward to picking up?

On my list for the month:

* Atlantis Rising by Alyssa Day
* Remember The Alimony (saw it at wal-mart last wknd and didn't pick it up, kicking myself now lol)
* The Nymph King by Gena Showalter
* Succubus Blues
* Dead and Dateless (though I can't remember the release date)
* Speed Dating (harlequin nascar book)

couple others that aren't coming to mind.

Its a fly-by

post...

Its quarter to 2 am and I'm up working. Woohoo, feel like I've hit my second wind. Smoothing out things and swapping in bunches of rewritten pages with the old stuff. But I think I want to rename the ghost club in the story. Basically its a club that's well, populated by ghosts much to the beloved heroine's surprise. Currently I called it Infinity (but it sounds too Toy Story to me) so I'm looking for ideas or suggestions for a new name. If you've got an idea, leave me a comment :o)

Oh and if your one of my brilliant cps, I may need a mini brainstorm this afternoon on one bit in chapter 8 between Sab and disaster date #1. So yeah, just a head's up :o)

Visions Of Heat Meme

Nalini Singh is doing some promo for her upcoming book. If you'd like to participate in the contest, read about it on her blog.

Since I like meme's and I'm short of blog topics this week while I fight through edits... here we go :o)

~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~

The VISIONS OF HEAT meme 1. Which psychic power would you most like to possess? I'd like to see the future. :o) I think it'd be fun and might stop me from making a few mistakes

2. If you could see the future, what would you like to see?

Oh wow, look I'm psychic already!! lol Uhm, well mistakes... and I'd like a little clarity on where I'm going.

3. Imagine you woke up one day and could shapeshift - what would you shift into?

Seriously? Hmmm... I'd like to be like a garden faery for a day. Discover a whole new, secret world

4. What kind of a paranormal creature would you invite over for dinner if there were no limits on who you could ask?

Can I get an Angel or Spike??? Pretty please??

5. Which future innovation do you wish would hurry up and get here already? i.e. flying cars, a transporter, computers with artificial intelligence, an auto chef?

I'm going with two. The transporter since I've never flown and hey, why start now lol And flying cars, though I don't know how well I'd do with heights. Maybe I'd be the slow poke dawdling along at 6 feet in the air.

This meme was begun by Nalini Singh to get the word out about her next book, Visions of Heat (releasing March 6). Want to play, too, and enter to win a $50 Amazon voucher plus an ARC? Click here for details.

Some Good News

Well for once its actually nice weather out. Sunny. Above Zero. And I feel icky enough to not even want to step foot outside. The most I might is try and crack open my window later and get some fresh air that way.

But in better news, Sab got her first request for a FULL this week. Color me shocked. Its from another NYC agency, and I can sub it via email so yay on that! So if I'm absent from blogging this week I'm busy rereading Sab to make it as good as it can get.

How's everyone's weekend?

Just Plain Wrong

Between yesterday's noontime press conference (how sad was that?) and the Islander website (argh, the isles?? I still have huge issues with that team) seeing Ryan in this is just plain wrong.
Have to watch on the fly tonight and see the highlights of the game. Hope he gets a hat trick!
